Why did Etihad decide to implement Logipad?
Logipad is the most advanced EFB class 1 device available on the market. It is based on freely available off the shelf hardware and software which is easy to operate and easy to maintain.
The manufacturer (T&A SYSTEME GmbH) is an expert network integrator who has delivered a high quality product and reliable support. Through genuine personal commitment and not just use of helplines, T&A has ensured that the Logipad framework consistently delivers to Etihad specifications.
 |
Logipad allows the design of a highly customised platform tailored to the individual needs of Etihad with a wide range of applications such as documentation, performance calculation tools, computer based training programs and approach charts.
The administration does not require much manpower. The update process is simple and can be performed by the pilots via the internet from anywhere in the world. Information can be disseminated accurately, quickly and inexpensively to a rapidly growing number of pilots. The documentation status is also easily auditable by the regulator. |
Which business concerns are resolved for Etihad using Logipad?
The use of computer based performance calculation tool provides accurate and optimized take-off and landing performance data which saves engine life and improves payload. Engine life savings are substantial, especially in a hot and sandy environment such as the United Arab Emirates, our home base.
Document distribution is fast, inexpensive, accurate and reliable. Pilots can retrieve their flight briefing package digitally and also perform computer based training anytime and anywhere. The Outlook mail function integrates the pilots into the internal communication system, too, and auditable documentation updates ensure regulatory compliance.
After 3 years of operation how did Logipad contribute to the business and the operations of Etihad?
Logipad has become an integral part of the pilots’ equipment and the Etihad infrastructure. Logipad significantly contributed to a safe and efficient operation during the phases of Etihad’s rapid growth. Pilots, while being highly mobile workers, are also fully integrated into Etihad’s internal communication system.
